Cela nous concerne tous (This concerns all of us) is a commission created by Miguel Gutierrez in the fall of 2017 for Ballet de Lorraine in Nancy, France.
Our first collaboration I joined Gutierrez as dramaturg/art bruja throughout the development and joined the team in Nancy to ahead of the Premiere as part of the company’s 50th anniversary season. Taking inspiration and title from the May 1968 social and political movements in France Gutierrez worked with the full company of 21 dancers and engaged the National Opera of Lorraine as site as much as stage, a mad riot of feeling followed. This work now continues on as part of the Ballet de Loraine’s touring repertory.
